Our Mission with the Dicastery of Integral Human Development & the Laudato Si Platform

In May 2015, Pope Francis published Laudato Si, an encyclical letter on the Care for our Common Home.

Entrusted with its implementation in the Universal Church was the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development. As a direct response to the Holy Father, the Laudato Si Action Platform was built to act on the ecological teachings of our faith. Through a website and engagement portal, the Platform is intended to "bring together the efforts of people and institutions around the world, to build a global community that is committed to walking together as one human family dedicated to realizing God's call for a new dynamic relationship with our common home."

The Platform’s contextual approach is directed towards integral ecology - encompassing both human and social dimensions - grounded in the three fundamental relationships directly derived from Laudato Si; God, neighbor, earth (LS 137/221).

These relationships were then used to shape the 7 Laudato Si Goals, constructed by the Dicastery to "guide our actions, and serve as a common destination for our journeys; calling for a spiritual and cultural revolution to realize full sustainability in the holistic spirit of integral ecology."

The Dicastery asks that we use these goals to develop a Laudato Si Action Plan, joining thousands of schools, parishes, and dioceses around the world. Through reflection, action, and evaluation, We Are A Mission is joining forces with groups of students at Pallottine Educational Institutions to build respective, local plans; then used to foster and create a universal action plan for the entire Pallottine Family.
