Philippines

“The Philippines needs holy and loving families, capable of guarding the faith, capable of keeping the faith. And the whole world looks to you and asks you to be witnesses of joy and love, because the world needs your beautiful smile.”

- Pope Francis

2010

The Pallottine mission in the Philippines began in 2010 through the missionary activity of the Indian Raipur Province. The Society first assumed responsibility for parish ministry in Bacolod City, known locally as the “City of Smiles.”

In 2014, the Pallottines opened a Formation House for seminarians, marking the institutional strengthening of the mission. Their pastoral ministry reflects a distinctly missionary approach, emphasizing proximity to the faithful and consistent engagement with urban pastoral needs, especially through local Masses; be it in the parishes, or the makeshift Chapel on the strets of Bata.

In particular, Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church was built from the ground up, under the direction of missionary Fr. Saju SAC. The mission continues to focus on parish-based evangelization, formation of local vocations, and the consolidation of Catholic communal life in an increasingly dynamic social environment.
