“In spite of my littleness, I can hope to be a Saint!” • Missionary Prayer Vigil
“One mission alone would not be sufficient for me, I would want to preach the Gospel on all 5 continents simultaneously and to the most remote isles. I would be a missionary, not for a few years only but from the beginning of creation until the consummation of the ages. But above all, O my Beloved Savior, I would shed my blood for You even to the very last drop.”
On the Feast of St. Therese, the Pontifical Missionary Union and the United Secretariat for Mission Animation Lazio (SUAM) organized the Missionary Prayer Vigil as part of their Walks of Hope initiative. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Giulio Albanese, a Comboni Missionary, at the Church of St. Joseph of the Carpenters in the Roman Forum. The Church was originally constructed above the Mamertine Prison, where Saints Peter and Paul were also imprisoned.
