World Mission Sunday Webinar: Pontifical Missionary Union
In conjunction with the Pontifical Missionary Union, We Are A Mission held its first of three webinars directed to Pope Francis’ 2025 World Mission Sunday Message. It’s theme, Christians, Bearers & Builders of Hope, was introduced by Fr. Anh Nhue Nguyen OFM Conv., the International Secretariat of the Pontifical Missionary Union.
It was through Fr. Anh Nhue’s impetus that the webinar series was organized, as the Pontifical Mission Socities “are effectively the “primary means” of awakening missionary responsibility among all the baptized and supporting ecclesial communities in areas where the Church is young (cf. Decree Ad Gentes, 38).”
Fr. Anh Nhue OFM Conv, International Secretariat of the PMU, & J. Calzonetti
The Pontifical Missionary Union, described as the “soul of the Pontifical Missions” by St. Pope Paul VI, is of particular and great importance to St. Vincent Pallotti, as he was declared its Patron by St. Pope John XXIII in 1963. Therefore, the words of Fr. Anh Nhue carried with them a dimension of spiritual fatherhood.
The event was virtually attended by approximately 200 people, and it’s possible to view Fr. Anh Nhue’s presentation below!
The second session will be held on August 20th, at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Msgr. Tadeusz Wojda SAC, Archbishop of Gdansk, Poland, and President of the Polish Episcopal Conference, will give the opening remarks. If you’re interested in attending, please register here!
