South Africa
Following their expulsion from Cameroon in 1927 by French authorities, several Pallottine missionaries accepted an invitation from the Apostolic Delegate to South Africa. After initial difficulties in establishing themselves, the mission was officially founded in February 1929 in the Eastern Cape.
Over time, Pallottine work expanded into the Archdiocese of Durban and the Dioceses of Queenstown and Oudtshoorn. The mission continues to be sustained largely by the German Province.
