Papua New Guinea

January 30, 1990

The Pallottines established their mission in Papua New Guinea on 30 January 1990, when two missionaries of the Polish Province departed for the Diocese of Wewak. The Society entered an environment marked by significant geographic and cultural diversity, where pastoral outreach often requires traveling extended distances between island communities. The mission has since grown to include parish administration, formation programs, and pastoral accompaniment within the region’s complex sociocultural context. The Society marked the mission’s silver jubilee with an official visitation from Fr. General Jacob Nampudakam, SAC.
